The Data Builder constitutes the lower portion of the Configuration window, below the Worksheet. The Data Builder allows users to search for MIM symbols, set date and worksheet options, create custom formulas, and load curve and forward curve data. The Series, Formula, Curve and Forward Curve tabs, as shown below, control the different MIMIC query functionalities:

The Data Builder's Search Database functionality allows users to perform detailed database searches for specific symbols (for more information, see Searching in MIMIC). When a symbol is selected, its descriptive information, such as MIM symbol name, column and unit type displays by row in the Worksheet. The icons at the left side of the Worksheet indicate the type of query used for each symbol, either a series, formula, curve or forward curve:
